Improved nutrition in the province was addressed in the recent meeting of the Provincial Nutrition Council at the Provincial Health Office last September 7, 2022. Data showed that the number of underweight and severely underweight kids from ages 0 to 5 years old has steadily decreased in the span of 5 years, from a total of 3,497 in 2018 to 2,461 as of 2022. As a result, the following Municipalities were categorized as the top 10 most nutrition compliant in the province. 1.) Balilihan; 2.) Alicia; 3.) San Miguel; 4.) Trinidad; 5.) Ubay; 6.) Sikatuna; 7.) Catigbian; 8.) Sierra Bullones; 9.) Candijay; 10.) Garcia Hernandez.

Other awardees were Outstanding District Nutrition Program Coordinator in the Province, Ms. Glenda Grafilo (Provincial Health Office); Outstanding Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinator in the Province, Ms. Charisma G. Tagsa (LGU, Balilihan); and Outstanding Municipal Nutrition Action Officer in the Province, Dr. Enriqueto I. Acenas (MHO, Garcia Hernandez).

These awardees and the Provincial Health Office are determined to combat nutrition problems in the province. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Reymoses Cabagnot lauded the awardees and committed his office to lead in the sustained effort in increasing the nutritional level of Boholano children, decreasing the incidence of malnourished children in some municipalities.
