Second day of Distribution of Barangay Aid & Tanod Kits, 3 towns received Barangay Livestock Aid

85 Barangay Livestock Aid (BALA) Members from the Municipality of Dagohoy, Sierra Bullones, and Carmen received livestock vitamins and 1800 peso-incentives from the Provincial Government of Bohol.

During the second day of the Provincial Government of Bohol’s Distribution of Barangay Aid & Tanod Kits Thursday, November 17, 2022, BALA members from 66 Barangays received vitamins, syringe, and dewormer from the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian. Members also received cash incentive worth 1800 pesos for their service in as members of BALA. Annabelle Espina Lourfel Rotilles, OPV community facilitator, emphasizes the importance of uplifting BALA members during crisis, stating their roles as frontliners for Bohol’s aspirations in achieving agricultural and food security.

“They’re the first to know if the African Swine Fever has reached our shores. They’re the first to inform us how much livestock we lose during natural hazards such as typhoons. They are very important to our Province’s economy, that’s why we try to help them as much as we can,” Rotilles said.

OPV will distribute more vitamins in more Municipalities for the rest of the year for BALA Members as part of Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado’s meet & greet program, where his office hands out incentives and goods. This program is a collaborative effort with the Provincial Health Office, Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development, Local Government Affairs, Provincial Treasury Office, and the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian.
