Senator Maria Imelda Josefa Remedios “Imee” Romualdez Marcos brought goodies in the forms of Assistance to Individual in Crisis Situation (AICS) and supplies and delicious nutri-bun to school kids in Mariveles Elementary School, Mariveles, Dauis town during her whirlwind visit in Bohol.

The AICS was distributed at the Bohol Cultural Center where she helped handed out the said assistance to hundreds of qualified Boholano beneficiaries who have waited for her arrival.

She was assisted by Gov. Aris Aumentado, Congresswoman Maria Vanessa Cadorna Aumentado, Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Cajes Yap and officials of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) after her arrival at the center at noon today (Nov. 19).

Following her short stint at the center, she proceeded to Mariveles Elementary School, Dauis town, where Vice-Gov. Dionisio Victor Balite, Dauis Mayor Roman Bullen, Vice-Mayor Marietta Sumaylo and the school kids and officials were waiting and then was greeted for her birthday.

She received a hundred roses of varying colors and a cake which she blew the candle and the children sang a happy birthday.

In her interview, she thanked the people of Bohol and the officials led by Gov. Aumentado for the support apparently in the last elections although she placed 14th in the 12-seat Senate race.

She said that she poured some P17 million to help Bohol and another P11 million is coming to help alleviate the needy and fisherfolk in the coastal areas and the tourism stakeholders who were badly affected by the pandemic in the last two years.

In separate interviews, Mayor Bullen and Vice-Mayor Sumaylo said that they’re elated of the senator’s visit here.
“Nalipay mi kay gibisita mi ni senadora,” Sumaylo said.

Mayor Bullen said that the financial aid from the senator will be used for livelihood for the fisherfolk for “fish farming” in a bid to reduce the high fish prices. (rvo)
