Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado meets with the European and its funded organization Project RELY (Renewable Energy for Livelihood and Youth) in a Courtesy Visit in the Governor’s Office on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the New Capitol Building in Tagbilaran City.
In an effort to maintain the strong relationship between the Province and European Union, Governor Aumentado meets with the Head of Unit-South and Southeast Asia, Mario Ronconi, and the key members of Project RELY, in a conversation on Renewable Energy, youth development, education enhancement, livelihood development, and environmental conservation.
“This afternoon, I couldn’t be happier to know that the European Union is currently implementing the Project Renewable Energy and Youth, themes that are close to my heart,” Governor Aumentado said.
He added that the Provincial Government of Bohol is responsive in environmentally-conscious endeavors and is committed to assisting Project RELY in any developmental projects for the province. Governor Aumentado mentioned that PGBh is committed in investing in renewable energy, through “coal-free Bohol” as an affirmation to the province’s dedication to conserve its flora and fauna.
Project RELY is a European Union funded, environmental-focused operation, has previously provided at least 16 off-grid schools via solar power this year in Bohol, Cebu, and Palawan, in partnership with Sequa, Vivant Foundation, and Process-Bohol. They also provided trainings for communities on maintaining them. PGBh hopes to create more environmentally-sustainable projects with the said organization that empowers Bol-anon communities.
