Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development for the Pambansang Pabahay Para Sa Pilipino program, which provides affordable housing for Filipinos.

A flagship program of the Marcos Administration, the DHSUD-led program pursues to create 6 million housing by 2028, with 70,000 for Region-7. The program aims to provide affordable housing for Filipino Informal Settler Families (ISF), Minimum Wage earners, and Government employees. During his message, Governor Aumentado showed his support for the program, as he sees it as a way to give Boholanos a better chance at quality of life.

“Since the start of our administration, we have aimed for Boholanos to have a better life. As we proceed with the plans years ahead, we have identified housing as one of the key areas in which we can improve and increase our way of life,” Governor Aumentado said.

He added that this partnership with DHSUD will help achieve the goal of providing housing for Boholanos, specifically ISF-identified, and improve the communities within the province.

DHSUD Undersecretary Gary V. De Guzman was in attendance on behalf of DHSUD Secretary Jose Acuzar and promised that they will make the housing more affordable to hit the target of providing housing to beneficiaries through providing interest subsidies for those who are interested in applying. According to DHSUD, the program will target 1 million housing units per year for the next six years for identified ISFs, both for commercial and residential purposes.
